Travelling by foot is one of the most venerable and intimate ways to experience the South Chilcotin Mountains. Whether on a day hike that meanders up a historic river valley with the alpine beckoning above, or on a multi-day hike travelling over majestic valleys and peaks staying each night at one of our 5 historic backcountry camps, the hiking opportunity in the South Chilcotin is certain to inspire.
You’ll get the chance to hike and explore trails deep in the backcountry. Travel relatively lightly on this unique “hut to hut” guided hiking experience, as you stay multiple nights in our comfortable, well equipped and hosted backcountry camps.
Our guided tours let you begin your adventure by taking a spectacular float plane flight into a remote and stunning alpine lake (from either our base or another location-such as Whistler or Vancouver for an additional cost).
Catered to your goals and fitness level, over multiple days your guide/s will uncover the magic of the South Chilcotins. You could expect to hike over remote mountain passes, travel through stunning sub alpine meadows, to cross creeks and visit alpine lakes, and to experience some sections of trail that have mild exposure and spectacular valley views.
Keep an eye out for wildlife, and learn about local flora and the history of the region and Tyax Adventures.
